snailsThis year we saw the emergence of a new crunchy sub genre in electronic music. Vomit step has been emblazoned by young producers like Snails and Botnek, and they have given an electro house vibe to it. Pump this – Herobust & Snails is a perfect example of how they were able to fuse crunchy bass face music with the incredibly popular Big Room sound. This track proved to be festival gold and since has been supported heavily by OWSLA head honcho Skrillex and other world class producers at MainStage sets this past year.

Frédérik Durand of Montreal, Quebec has arguably had the largest growth in terms of recognition from fans and artists alike of any of the names on this year’s lineup for Decadence NYE. In 2014 he has gone from never playing at a festival blowing up some of the largest massive festivals in the U.S.. His signature sound has earned support from some of the biggest names in “EDM” . Anyone from Tiesto to Excision and plenty in-between have dropped some chainsaw bass on seas of  unsuspecting people. Sometimes there is a raucous response and others are left astonished wondering what exactly is happening to their ears. This year we saw a slue of massive releases from Snails which have catapulted him to stages at Tomorrowworld (Atlanta), Hard Summer(L.A.), and Something Wicked (Houston) just to name a few. His Stomp and Magnet Eps are short but sweet proving that quality over quantity can serve well as long as you distinguish a sound unique to yourself. His more recent EP Stomp was far more successful following massive tracks like RUBBR with moombahton and bass music maestro ETC! ETC! and WILD which had a remix package that has gotten quite the amount of recognition. 2014 was a huge year for the young producer but 2015 looks to be very promising from what we have heard. Be sure to make your way to the Bass Arena on the 2nd Day of Decadence NYE and check out the homie Snails.
