UPDATE 3:35 PM CST: EDMTunes reports that Deadmau5 will be standing in for Avicii‘s headlining slot on the Ultra Mainstage Saturday.

Last Friday on the brink of arguably the biggest week in electronic dance music, reports came in that Tiesto cancelled his San Diego gig after being rushed to the hospital following a head injury. The DJ would be diagnosed with a concussion caused by hitting his head on an LED screen. This was just the first of many hospitalizations to take stage during the week of Ultra Music Festival.

Wednesday Avicii checked into a Miami hospital due to an unexpected illness forcing him to cancel his set at the SLS South Beach as part of his Avicii Hotel takeover. Fortunately, fans weren’t left stranded and Bergling had his buddy Alesso fill in for him. The Miami Herald reports Avicii’s appearance at the mainstage to close out Ultra Music Festival on Saturday night sits in limbo as he is still residing at a Miami hospital.

Just a day earlier during a Dim Mak showcase, Afrojack took a spill landing him face first on the ground in a puddle of his own champagne. The artist took to Twitter to confess he was “dehydrated and overworked” but okay now.

Just today it has been announced that Dada Life‘s Stefan Engblom has left the states for an urgent abdominal surgery. Fans will be glad to know that Olle will be performing a full Dada Life set for their Miami appearances this weekend along with the Las Vegas and Boise shows.

Finally, Laidback Luke and Gina Turner are officially proud parents. After rocking the baby bump for some time now, Gina Turner went into labor early this morning forcing Laidback Luke to detour his Miami destination. His mainstage set which would have taken place in just few hours is now cancelled.
